CITIZENM : LONDON BANKSIDE

Living about an hour from London, it's quite easy to pop there for a weekend now and then. I've stayed in many a hotel, mostly good and one particularly bad which we wont go in to, but it did involve some questionable stains. After seeing Megan from Pages By Megan 's post on the CitizenM Hotel last year I've been an eager beaver to go and stay there. Josh & I have really been needing a break together recently, so we booked up last minute and went this weekend for a couple of nights, and we were not disappointed.
It's nothing like any of the hotels I've stayed in before. Dare I say, quite a lot of the more famous London hotels or hotel chains can be very dated with patterned carpets, metal filigree taps and tea and coffee with those weird little milks that don't have to go in the fridge (suspicious in itself.) There was not of that at the CitizenM.
When you arrive at the reception, you are greeted by casual and friendly staff who help you check in by computer. There's mismatching and quirky décor everywhere, from cow print chairs and masses of paper lampshades to old vogue magazines and vintage china ornaments.
The rooms are incredible to, hence why most of our photos are of us eating/chilling out/watching TV in bed... it's the place we spent most of our time. It is no doubt the biggest bed I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping in. I actually did full on stretched out arm and leg rolls from one end to the other one night, I thought it would be rude not to.
The other part of the stay which had us sold, was the very important tablet you get given... which I clearly couldn't put down from the photos. It controls everything in the room. The temperature, the blinds and most importantly the colour of the lights, which is of course a massive novelty that didn't wear off. Who doesn't love having a blue shower? The tablet also controls the TV above the bed, and has a number of films to pick from to watch. It was the perfect getaway to relax, snuggle down in a massive bed and watch movie after movie with take away sushi.
We will most definitely be back and I cant wait.

P.s, massive shout out to Josh for the weirdest breakfast concoction... who knew croissants and sausages were such a good match?
