ASOS SALE PICKS

Aside from Christmas & my birthday, my favourite occasion arrived yesterday... the Asos summer sale. I'm actually moving out next month and need to save all my pennies like crazy, so scrolling through and picking out these bits nearly killed me. I want it all and I feel like I need these goodies so much more because I know I'm not allowed to shop. It's that old forbidden fruit thing isn't it. I actually added quite a few bits to my basket on several occasions yesterday and got so near to clicking the old 'place order' button., but guilt took over. It's bound to happen sooner or later, especially if a bit of wine gets involved at the weekend. Josh if you're reading this I would mostly like the tasselled bag. Thank you.

ICONEMESIS

I am not one for technology. Sometimes I feel as though I should have been born into an Amish community where I could sit in the garden milking goats and making jam all day. I am however, one for decorating any form of technology I own. So when the lovely peeps at Iconemesis  sent me this gorgeous case, I couldn't wait to put it on. They stock cases by several designers, including the very cute Fifi Lapin  and Gemma Correll, whose designs include pug and unicorn illustrations. What's not to love there?!

CITIZENM : LONDON BANKSIDE

Living about an hour from London, it's quite easy to pop there for a weekend now and then. I've stayed in many a hotel, mostly good and one particularly bad which we wont go in to, but it did involve some questionable stains. After seeing Megan from Pages By Megan 's post on the CitizenM Hotel last year I've been an eager beaver to go and stay there. Josh & I have really been needing a break together recently, so we booked up last minute and went this weekend for a couple of nights, and we were not disappointed.
It's nothing like any of the hotels I've stayed in before. Dare I say, quite a lot of the more famous London hotels or hotel chains can be very dated with patterned carpets, metal filigree taps and tea and coffee with those weird little milks that don't have to go in the fridge (suspicious in itself.) There was not of that at the CitizenM.
When you arrive at the reception, you are greeted by casual and friendly staff who help you check in by computer. There's mismatching and quirky décor everywhere, from cow print chairs and masses of paper lampshades to old vogue magazines and vintage china ornaments.
The rooms are incredible to, hence why most of our photos are of us eating/chilling out/watching TV in bed... it's the place we spent most of our time. It is no doubt the biggest bed I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping in. I actually did full on stretched out arm and leg rolls from one end to the other one night, I thought it would be rude not to.
The other part of the stay which had us sold, was the very important tablet you get given... which I clearly couldn't put down from the photos. It controls everything in the room. The temperature, the blinds and most importantly the colour of the lights, which is of course a massive novelty that didn't wear off. Who doesn't love having a blue shower? The tablet also controls the TV above the bed, and has a number of films to pick from to watch. It was the perfect getaway to relax, snuggle down in a massive bed and watch movie after movie with take away sushi.
We will most definitely be back and I cant wait.

To find out more or book your stay, you can visit the website right here.

P.s, massive shout out to Josh for the weirdest breakfast concoction... who knew croissants and sausages were such a good match?

TOPSHOP SUEDE LUGGAGE BAG

I have been after this Topshop luggage bag for absolutely ages! It's grey, it's suede, it's embossed and massively oversized. What is not to love?! I am a little bit besotted with it if you couldn't tell. I'm off to London for a few days next weekend and I am most excited about carrying my bag about (& getting Yo Sushi delivered to my hotel)... a bit sad isn't it? It also comes in black  & khaki if they tickle your fancy.
In honour of said luggage bag, I put together a bit of a travel wear look. Sadly, I am not travelling abroad this year, so no airport visits or me, but this is the sort of outfit I will wear for any long car journeys I'll be going on this summer. You cant go far wrong with relaxed layers, your fave ripped jeans and Birkenstocks. This is probably a health and safety hazard, but when I go on car journeys I do like to be able to slip my shoes off and sit with crossed legs, so the old Birkies are a winner for me.

TOPSHOP & MALLZEE

A couple of weeks ago I was very lucky to win a competition held by the guys at Mallzee, and won a hefty Topshop gift card. These were a few of the goodies that I brought with said card, i'm absolutely in love with the shoes. I've been after some mules for a while, and love everything about these from the double strap to the block heel. They're also super comfy, which is always a bonus.

If you haven't already heard about Mallzee or you missed my recent post, it is basically an app that takes all the hassle out of online shopping. I don't know about you, but I can literally spend hours scrolling through numerous websites for one perfect item. With Mallzee you can type what you are after in the search bar, 'black mules' for example, and it will bring up a whole bunch from all their brands. Which include Topshop, Warehouse and Urban Outfitters among many other. Easy Peasey! You can thank me later.
